For more than a decade, Manhood Journey has been helping Christian fathers become discipleship makers. In a culture that fights against the standard of biblical manhood, we understand that Christian fathers need all the help they can get. We also know that dads who follow Christ and love their families well can make a difference in their homes and in the world!

Christian Fathers Look to Jesus as the Model

Christian dads have one of the toughest jobs in the world. But they also have the greatest example: Jesus. When Christian fathers look to the Savior, they see what genuine, biblical manhood looks like. That’s huge when it comes to raising men and women who are not satisfied with simply being good citizens.

Through the example of Christ in Scripture, fathers can raise disciples of Jesus. That’s vital to us because our commitment is not just for this generation of dads. We want to see godly legacies built and passed down from one generation to the next. If godly fathers are going to change the world, discipling their kids at home is the starting place. And Jesus is the role model.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

Proverbs 22:6

Embracing the “Downstream Effect”

Fathers are the foundation for a godly homes. But they have the potential for so much more. By being steadfast in their faith, they can make a difference in many other areas. For example, churches will grow stronger because kids whose dads take them to church (instead of just sending them to church) are more likely to develop a personal faith that sticks into adulthood.

Likewise, dads who follow Christ leave a positive mark on their communities. By actively investing in the lives of their own children, they reduce the chances of their kids falling into dangerous behaviors. Research reveals that children whose fathers are a significant part of their lives do better in school, aren’t as likely to use drugs or alcohol, and earn higher incomes as adults.

Of course, solid communities provide stability to the nation. Children with involved fathers demonstrate greater levels of mental health. In addition, violence goes down, along with rates of incarceration.

If you ever wonder if being a Christian father is worth the effort, we believe it is—and the research backs us up. The ripple effect that starts in your home can change the world. That’s why Manhood Journey believes fatherhood matters and why we are dedicated to helping Christian fathers strengthen their marriages and nurture their kids.

How We’re Fighting the Battle

At Manhood Journey, we’re fighting for Christian fathers through what we do and how we do it. With God’s help, our goals are simple:

• We help passive dads engage and become intentional.

• We help distracted dads learn how to disciple their children.

• We help angry dads find peace and lead their families joyfully.

• We help confused dads gain direction and confidence.

To make that happen, we lean into a variety of tools. You already know about our blog articles, which thousands of men read every month. We also produce the weekly Father on Purpose Podcast that will see more than 100,000 downloads by the end of the year. Each of those resources is free, as is our Godly Father Assessment, which more than 3,500 men have completed. Other free resources include our Mountain Monday Newsletter and our theme-driven Bible reading plans.

We also provide paid resources that support fatherhood. Thousands of men have benefitted from our Bible studies and field guides over the years, both as individuals and as part of a small group in their church. And it’s our long-range vision to continue expanding our offerings to support even more Christian fathers in the future.

What You Can Do

Each year, hundreds of thousands of dads will visit the Manhood Journey website. This platform is where you’ll find all the resources mentioned earlier.

But there’s one other tab we don’t want you to miss: the Donate page. In addition to the resources we offer, our ministry for Christian dads is funded by the generosity of individuals who share our vision and long to be a part of something bigger than themselves. With just a small financial gift, they are changing the trajectory of so many families.

Truth is, we’ve embraced a God-sized task. Recent estimates put the number of children growing up in homes without a father or a significant father figure at 24 million. That’s millions of sons who aren’t receiving the affirmation of their dads or learning the truth about becoming a man. That’s millions of daughters who aren’t hearing dads tell them why they are special and have no role model for godly husbands.

At Manhood Journey, we believe Christian fathers matter. We’re committed to this fight. And we invite you to stand in the gap with us today.

Not sure where you’re headed as a dad? Take the Godly Father Assessment to see now.
