7 Deadly Sins of a Disengaged Dad

“I am teaching this to my men’s disciple group. It is a great read! Thank you!” —Scott (Unionville, TN)

“I don’t care if you’re a heathen, an atheist, or a spirit-filled, born-again Christian, this book can help you with parenting.“ —Michael DelGiorno, Radio Host on SuperTalk 99.7 WTN, Nashville, TN

The seven deadly sins—
pride, envy, anger, greed, sloth, gluttony, lust—are not so-called because they are the most lethal. All sin kills in some way. These seven sins are the sins that often give birth to other sins.

We surveyed fathers, thousands of them. From church-going dads, we learned they walk around defeated, feeling like a failure, feeling guilty about work commitments, and not feeling like they’re connected or training their children the way they should. Maybe you feel this way too.

  • If you’re struggling to connect with your kid, it may be the root issue is not some generational gap, but pride.
  • Is your kid not talking to you because you need to repent of caring about yourself too much for too many years?
  • Struggling to balance your priorities and use your time. Could greed or sloth be getting closer to the heart issue behind the problem?

Most sin can be traced to one of these seven sins. So, know them. Fight them in your home. Fight them in your heart. Be the example that maybe you didn’t have growing up.
