Jeff Bradford is President of the Human Coalition. We talked with him on the Father On Purpose Podcast recently. Bradford explained his work, how supporting young fathers can decrease abortions in our culture, and much more. Jeff points to Hosea 4:6 often in his ministry, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Hosea’s story of redemption—where Hosea buys back his unfaithful wife—mirrors God’s constant pursuit of us despite our failures. D.A. Carson explains that while God could abandon His “bride,” He chooses to pay the price to redeem us, expecting faithfulness in return. Hosea 4:1 says, There is no faithfulness or steadfast love, and no knowledge of God in the land… Sadly, our culture lacks the knowledge of God’s Word. As a dad, do you lack knowledge of God and His Word? One way to notice is if you’re not living by His truth. Question: How do past mistakes shape you? Do you wallow in them or use them for God’s glory? Trusting God’s redemption can transform you. Remember: Your past doesn’t have to be your future. Satan tells us we’re defined by past mistakes. God says you’re His creation, not your mistakes. Your calling as a godly dad depends on you embracing your identity in Christ and moving forward with His grace and strength—for you and your family.

What is Masculinity: Every man wants to know he’s good enough, that he’s done enough to be considered a true man. Unfortunately, we live in a world that often tries to tear guys down and rob them of their God-given dignity. This leaves them questioning their masculinity and their worth. God longs for His sons to understand His perspective on what masculinity really means and how they can apply the basic principles of biblical manhood to their lives.

TAKE ACTION

Lead transparently. In Hosea 4:6, God punishes priests who fail to teach His Word. As a dad, you’re called to be the priest of your home. Kids often follow your example as a dad. If your kids follow you, will they hear and see a reflection of God? Try being transparent with your family this week. Even in your mistakes, remember that God pursues you. God forgives sins throughout Scripture—He can forgive you. Embrace this truth from God’s Word, so you can live out the same forgiveness you’ve been given. Doing this will reassure your wife and kids that you are committed to them and God.
