Every year in December, I pass our fatherhood ministry through the K.I.S.S. filter. And, not just the “Keep It Simple Stupid” one, but, through this one: Keep. Improve. Stop. Start. What will we keep doing? What will we improve? What will we stop? What will we start. I’ve found this to be a useful filter both at work and as a dad. What can I keep doing as a father? Praying for my boys, attending church, asking them good questions. What can I improve at? Listening better, being patient. What can I stop? Angry responses, interrupting when they talk. What can I start? Do a Bible App reading plan with them, plan an epic summer vacation. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Let’s commit to KISS our way into the new year and committing that work to the LORD!
