When dads are disengaged, children suffer. God’s Word has told us this for thousands of years. Now, all the stats reinforce it. Children without engaged dads are more likely to abuse drugs, have early premarital sex, suffer from depression and engage in violent crime. The list goes on. Dads are crucial, and sadly, they’re more absent than ever.

Fathers are essential to the spiritual formation of children. Deuteronomy 6 lays out the command for Dads to lead their families. But many dads feel ill-equipped to lead their families. Worse yet, many have fully abandoned them.

Manhood Journey – and our Father On Purpose online community – exists to help dads become disciple-makers. We’re more interested in helping dads become godly dads instead of just “good” ones. Our kids need to know how to read scripture, think wisely and love their neighbor. Not just how to get good grades or ace a job interview.

We must double-down on discipleship. In the home. Where it matters the most. The stakes are too high if we don’t.
