Notice it or not, you’re in a daily spiritual battle. Good news is, you’re not alone in this fight. You don’t have to rely on your own strength. Ephesians 6:10-11 has three ideas for how we can tap into God’s strength instead of our own.
#1 Plug in. Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. You can’t strengthen yourself. Well, you can lift heavy things, but more muscle isn’t what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the constant power that comes from God alone. The idea here is about being strengthened all the time—through walking with Him. You’re not just grinning and getting over stuff—you’re plugged into a completely different power source than yourself.
#2 Dress up. Put on the whole armor of God. Armor is protective and useful. It’s must-wear stuff—not some fashion trend. From the belt of truth to the sword of the Word—you need God’s armor when Satan comes to tempt you. Wear your armor daily.
#3 Hold on. That you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Stand here is a combat term for holding your ground through an all-out assault from Satan. The enemy tries to manipulate and destroy. With God, you’re able to not only hold ground but stand up and win the battle. Actually, the battle has already been won.

Churches play a vital role here, not only inspiring fathers but equipping them with practical tools and reminding them that faithfulness matters more than flawless performance. The battles fathers face might look ordinary—but what’s at stake is eternal.
