Hebrews 10:23-25 has a ton to say about how the believer can hold on to his faith, serve those around him, and encourage everybody. Let’s unpack what God calls you to do from these verses.

#1 Hold fast… Hebrews 10:23 calls us to hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering... The idea is standing tall without drifting. Pressure, busyness, and straight-up fatigue will tempt you to loosen your grip, but faithfulness is about consistency, not intensity—think marathon, not sprint.

God anchors perseverance not in you, but in Himself, for He who promised is faithful. As a dad, holding fast means you keep showing up, pointing your kids to Christ, and trusting God’s promises—not because you are unbreakable, but because He is faithful.

#2 Stir Up… Hebrews 10:24 calls us to consider how to stir up one another to love and good worksConsider means intentional, thoughtful attention—slowing down to care about another.

Growth never happens by accident. You’re always influencing those close to you—but is it intentional or just passive? God calls you to serve. As a dad, there’s no greater picture of following God than serving your family.

#3 Encourage… Hebrews 10:25 warns us against neglecting to meet together and that we should focus on encouraging one another. God calls you to encourage others—not to always be looking for someone to encourage you.

Don’t look for thanks when you serve—that’s not why you do it. Don’t look for encouragement when you’re down. Instead, live as the one called to encourage. Your wife, kids, church, and co-workers need a guy who encourages.
