APPLY SCRIPTURE

As a husband/dad/man, do you know what God wants? Many overlook the Holy Spirit’s role. On our latest podcast, we explore 7 key insights about the Holy Spirit from Scripture. Today, we’ll discuss the first four, with the remaining three next week. The Holy Spirit… #1 Guides. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit…will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you (John 14:26). The Holy Spirit helps us remember and apply God’s Word constantly. How often do you rely on the Holy Spirit to guide your decisions? #2 Convicts. He will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment (John 16:8). The Holy Spirit convicts/reproves/convinces/makes aware of sin. In what areas do you sense God convicting you, urging you to align more closely with God’s will? #3 Intercedes. The Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Rom. 8:26). In our weakness, the Spirit intercedes, helping us pray when we don’t have the words. When you feel overwhelmed/unsure, do you trust the HS to guide your prayers? #4 Transforms. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law (Gal. 5:22-23). The Holy Spirit, not self-effort, produces spiritual fruit that transforms your character. Are the fruits of the Spirit evident in your daily interactions?
