Is your house/life built with wisdom? It’s Christmas, so I bet you’re searching for batteries right now. Wisdom is the battery that should power your life. Nothing good happens without the required battery. Proverbs 24:3-4 gives 3 thoughts around building a house/life well. #1 By WISDOM a house is built (Prov. 24:3). Many homes are built with tension, more rules, and foolishness. God offers you wisdom rather than evil/foolishness. Wisdom is living in God’s Word God’s way. Imagine His wisdom/Word filling your home—where you eat and all conversations. The godly dad walks in God’s way. The wise man built on a solid foundation, and was unaffected by the world. #2 By UNDERSTANDING it is established (Prov. 24:3). You seek to understand your life in relationship to God. You understand your wife/kid by how God created them. Your words are transformed daily into His likeness rather than this world’s. The godly dad’s wisdom is established by understanding. You are constantly open to wise counsel—asking others for feedback rather than thinking you’re always right. #3 By KNOWLEDGE the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches (Prov. 24:4). Proverbs 24:1 reveals evil men who take advantage of others. The godly dad seeks knowledge—to encourage others. You live in an understanding way. Foolishness leads to destruction. Consider precious and pleasant riches as the fruit of the spirit. You aren’t the know-it-all judgy dad. Your home is filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control…it’s where people want to gather.
